CASE STUDY
Making Scale Movable
CLIENT: ConocoPhillips / Willow Operations Center
LOCATION: Ingleside, Texas
PROJECT SCOPE: Industrial photography documenting final yard preparation, executive site visits, sail-away activity, daily selects, captioning, and image delivery for a broader project record.
At Kiewit Offshore Services in Ingleside, Texas, I documented ConocoPhillips’ Willow Operations Center as it moved through final yard preparation and sail-away activity in 2024. Large modular structures and support equipment were being readied for barge transport from the south Texas coast to the North Slope of Alaska.
On paper, the assignment was industrial documentation. On the ground, it became a study in how people make scale movable. The scale of this operation was visible immediately. but the photographs that mattered most were often those built around smaller acts of judgment: reading distance, checking details, signaling movement, and translating a massive operation into something others could understand.
This edit does not try to account for every stage of the operation. It follows the signals, decisions, and handoffs that made the scale understandable.
